Fertility, Pregnancy and Postpartum

What to Expect

Our clinic offers Traditional Chinese Medicine for patients that need support in their journey to conception for both men and women. Whether you are using Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) or not, acupuncture has proven to be beneficial in increasing the chances of pregnancy.

Dr, Splies is very experienced working with expecting mothers. She is well versed in treating morning sickness, using moxa to turn breech babies, helping mothers preparing for labor, and all the other ailments that come along with many pregnancies.

Postpartum is a sacred and vulnerable time. It is important to have providers that listen and make sure mother and baby are healthy. Dr. Cindy loves to do moxa on new mothers, a modern day variation of mother-roasting.

How Does Acupuncture Improve Fertility?

  1. Balances and normalizes the hormones and endocrine system that govern ovulation

  2. Regulates the menstrual cycle

  3. Reduces stress and anxiety, and takes the body out of “fight-or-flight” mose (Hormones and chemicals that are secreted during stress can significantly decrease fertility)

  4. Promote blood flow to the uterus and reproductive organs

  5. Reduces inflammation and can modulate the immune response which is important with auto-immune disorders.
